Green Electrician?

Trim Electric has been in business serving Houston Texas for over 32 years and has over the past couple of years looked more and more into how we can help our current customers save on electricity consumption.  Below is some information that we wanted to provide you.

What does it mean to be a “green” electrician? A key trait that sets us apart as a green electrician is that we have the ability to identify opportunities for energy savings within your home. We can do a basic energy audit and will soon have the ability to do a full RESNET energy audit for your home.  We also understand the best solutions, applications, and innovations currently available.

Key questions to ask potential contractors should include:

  • Have they undertaken any accredited training in energy efficiency or renewable energy installation? YES to both questions with RESNET training and certification just a couple of weeks away and we are also fully licensed and trained to install Solar on homes or businesses through NABCEP certification.
  • Can they explain to you what an energy efficient light is? YES we can and we have many different options for you.  CFL variants, LED downlights, OLEDs, Cold Cathode FLs……..
  • We encourage the use of smart power strips to avoid phantom loads. We are up to speed with occupancy/motion sensors for lighting.
  • What do they think is the most efficient way of completing the task at hand, i.e. a new heating or cooling system, lighting, or appliances?  Most of the time the easiest fix that you can even do yourself is by replacing your bulbs to energy efficient one but we can go a step further and explain how fixtures and energy efficient appliances can help you even more.
  • Do they have any references or previous energy efficient installations you can view?  Trim Electric has plenty of references just ask us or visit our website at www.trimelectric.com to read some testimonials.
